Bali police busted an apparent family drug business in south Denpasar last week.
A whopping 4,200 ecstasy pills were confiscated from a mother-son duo after police monitored the suspects for about a month, Badung Police Chief Superintendent Ruddy Setiawan told local media.
“We arrested them on Tuesday, December 13, at 2:30 pm,” Setiawan said on Monday, as quoted by Tribun Bali.
The arrested pair has been identified in Tribun’s report as YL, 43, and her son, LBJ, 22. LBJ had been Badung Police Narcotics Investigation Unit’s main target.
“The suspect, LBJ, we arrested while out with his parent, YL, while headed towards one delivery spot on Jl. P. Kawe, Pedungan, south Denpasar,” Setiawan said.
Under Indonesian narcotics law, both mother and son could be subject to a maximum of 20 years behind bars with a fine of up to Rp 10 billion.
