Remember the old saying, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”?

Well, in the case of Scuderia Ferrari Formula One Driver (and internet heartthrob) Charles Leclerc, the way is through this particular customized motorbike that he initially rented in Bali and ended up bringing home.

Other than his obvious love for cars, the Monegasque dreamboat was recently quoted by The Sport Rush professing his love for motorbikes.

“I have one motorbike, customized, which I bought in Bali,” he said, recalling his trip to the Island of Gods in 2018 with his best friends.

The motorbike, customized by Malamadre Motorcycles, was available for rent at IDR300,000 (US$19.26) per day. Leclerc loved the machine so much he decided to take it with him to Monte Carlo.

“Even though it was a mess to get it registered to ride there,” he said.

Motorbike rentals are popular among tourists in Bali. Some rental services in tourist hotspots, like Canggu, even offer custom motorbikes for their clients.

For Leclerc, the motorbike is special not just because of its features, but also for its sentimental value.

“I had just arrived in F1. And I decided to take all my closest friends on holiday, for the first time outside Europe. We had a great time,” he recalled.

Naturally, Indonesians went nuts when their country was mentioned. Some jokingly pointed out in the replies that the Monacan and Indonesian flags are basically identical.

“It’s like it’s meant to be,” said @icillaenoch
