A man was caught on camera yesterday sliding through the narrow opening of a rolling door at what he thought was an empty cell phone store in Canggu. Unluckily for him, the store was not empty at all.
The storekeeper, who was resting behind the counter, immediately stood up after hearing the metallic rattling. The alleged would-be thief, dressed in all black, suddenly froze.
As if taken from a comedy skit, the two locked eyes with each other while the thief mumbled something before he slid back out of the store. The storekeeper can be heard asking him questions as he dashed away.
The clip has gone viral after it was reposted by several local community accounts on Instagram.
Some found the clip comical while others said that they were relieved the storekeeper was not hurt.
We have reached out to the local police to ask whether they would launch an investigation into the alleged burglary attempt.
