Several word-class business leaders are expected to join the upcoming Business 20 (B20) Indonesia Summit 2022 that is scheduled in Bali this November.

Shinta Kamdani, who chairs the B20 Indonesia 2022 forum, confirmed that names such as SpaceX founder Elon Musk and Microsoft founder Bill Gates are among those scheduled to make an appearance.

“We’re very happy because Elon Musk has also already confirmed to appear at the B20 [Indonesia Summit 2022],” she told reporters in Davos, Switzerland, following the B20 Indonesia Business & Investment Forum.

At least 40 countries have confirmed their participation in the event, which accounts for 2,000 members of the B20 community, Shinta added.

In January this year, the inception meeting for Indonesia’s presidency for the B20 Summit 2022 was held in Jakarta by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The November forum is expected to stamp Indonesia’s status as the host of G20 and B20 so that more global businesses become familiar with Southeast Asia’s biggest economy and its potential.

Musk recently met with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in the U.S. on the sidelines of the latter’s visit for the ASEAN-US Special Summit.

Prior to that, the Tesla CEO Musk also met a delegation from Indonesia, including Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Pandjaitan, to discuss tapping into the country’s nickel-rich resources.

Local outlets reported that Tesla has planned a major investment in Indonesia, with its upcoming factory expected to be built in Batang, Central Java.
