Drug raid at Bali ‘meth factory’ turns up German amongst suspects

A raid at a meth factory in Kerobokan, Bali led to the arrest of four suspects, one of which is German, according to local reports.

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) made the raid on Tuesday based on a tip from a suspect in a meth possession case, identified as STV, 21.

Various production equipment and some drugs were found during the raid.

“There were two plastic packs of meth packets with a weight of 10 grams, ready for distribution, that we found in the house. The two packages were intended for selling after production,” BNN team leader I Ketut Arta told Tribun Bali on Tuesday night.

Arta says the ingredients for production are suspected to have been sent from Malang, East Java.

In addition to securing the German, identified as BB, 35, BNN has reason to believe that the German’s partner was involved in the drug operation.

“The team is looking for the pacar (romantic partner) of BB, who is rumored to be in the Gelogor Carik (Denpasar) area,” Arta added.

A search is underway.
