Travelers and drivers were shocked to find a driver dead in the parking lot at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport on Monday.
The driver, Budiarto, 59, had been in a Suzuki APV, in a queue waiting to get out of the airport parking lot, but hadn’t moved for some time. Cars backed up behind Budiarto started honking. The man was apparently leaned over the steering wheel, causing people to at first believe he had been on his phone.
“When approached, it turned out that the victim was in a crouched position and was salivating,” Merdeka quoted an airport officer as saying.
“Officers had to force open his car door and had planned to evacuate the victim to Kasih Ibu Hospital in Kedonganan using an ambulance. But he had already died,” the officer added.
Budiarto’s death has not yet been officially confirmed but he’s suspected to have died from a heart attack.
