Karangasem, a province of Bali known for its staggering rabies cases, is not a great place to live if you’re a stray Bali dog.
Yesterday, a stray dog was killed after biting three people around Bebandem Market, reports Tribun Bali.
According to the Karangasem head of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Maritime Affairs, I Ketut Artama, the excitement
started when someone stepped on the sleeping dog’s tail. The dog then sprang up and immediately bit three people around it, says Artama.
All of the bite victims were directly taken to hospitals in Karangasem, a witness told Tribun Bali. The victims name’s were published as I Made Karya, 55, I Wayan Sumajaya, 55, and a kid, Ni Komang M, 8.
The dog was reportedly killed then taken to a lab for rabies tests, because it was feared to be rabid. Artama says the rabies test came back negative.
