A pair of lovers who were enjoying time in Bali were reportedly found dead on Tuesday, after doctors suspect they suffered from fatal methanol poisoning.
Russian woman Bulgakova Iulia, 28, and Manado man Villy Kaudrow, 23, had been out drinking on Monday night before they died, reports Merdeka.
But police were apparently hesitant to disclose where the two were drinking to local media. Perhaps to avoid damaging any local business’ reputation before further investigation, though we’d love to know where we should definitely avoid taking liquor from for fear of methanol poisoning.
“Certainly not in a bar or in a hotel. In their usual hangout spot,” a source from Kuta police told Merdeka on Monday.
From the results of an autopsy done on Kaudrow at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar, forensics says they found indications of methanol poisoning, such as cerebral hemorrhage and signs of a lack of oxygen,” Sanglah’s head of forensic medicine, Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Alit told Merdeka.
As of writing time, police were still waiting on approval from Iulia’s family to conduct an autopsy on the Russian woman’s body.
