The body of popular Australian DJ Adam Neat, who went by the stage name Adam Sky, was reportedly cremated at the Kertha Semadi Mumbul Crematorium in South Kuta, Badung Regency, yesterday morning.
Tribun Bali reported that a Udayana Hospital employee, identified as Ian, confirmed that Neat’s body was taken by his family at 7am yesterday to be brought to the crematorium.
“His body was cremated this morning at 8am at the Mumbul [crematorium]. I can’t tell you more information, I apologize, because his family told me not to give out any information regarding his death,” Ian told Tribun Bali yesterday.
In addition to Ian, an employee at the crematorium also confirmed the DJ’s cremation but said he was also told not to give any information to the media by his family.
Forty-two-year-old Neat was taken to Sanglah Hospital’s forensic installation in Denpasar following his death for a post-mortem but was later moved to Udayana Hospital on Monday evening.
Neat’s family declined an autopsy on the grounds that they believed he died from a fatal accident. South Kuta Police Chief Commissioner Adjutant Doddy Monza said they would not push for an autopsy, which they had previously requested.
The Singapore-based DJ died on Saturday after reportedly crashing through a glass door while trying to help an injured friend. He is believed to have severed an artery in his arm when he crashed through a glass door as he rushed to help a female friend who fell from a balcony at the Kuta resort where they were staying.
Neat’s friend, a Russian national identified as 22-year-old Zoia Lukiantceva, broke her legs in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
