Denpasar’s Sanglah Hospital reports 9 cases of suicide by hanging in 2015

In just the past two months it feels there have been a disproportionate amount of reports of suicides in Bali, particularly vis-à-vis hanging.

A report in Tribun Bali on Tuesday confirms that 2015 has been a rough year, with Denpasar’s Sanglah Hospital Forensics admitting nine bodies to the morgue for suicide by hanging.

Even back in January, Indonesian site Merdeka noticed the weird trend of people found hanged in Bali in 2015.

We sure hope this won’t be a lasting trend and these occurrences were just outlier cases of seasonal depression and that we won’t hear anymore tragic suicide attempts in Bali moving forward.
