A Jordanian national has been missing since yesterday afternoon after he reportedly went swimming at the Double Six Beach in Legian. The Search and Rescue (SAR) Agency in Denpasar says they are still searching for the tourist.

“A search and rescue task force is still searching for the tourist up until this point,” Ida Bagus Surya Wirawan from the Denpasar SAR Agency told Coconuts Bali earlier today.

Three rubber boats, two jetski and a helicopter from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) have been dispatched for the search, he added.

The missing tourist, who local media identified as Mahmoud Mohammad Milhem, 28, was reported to be missing at 5pm yesterday, according to Detik.

Milhem is believed to have been swept up by the current when he went swimming with his wife on the beach in front of La Plancha Beach Bar & Restaurant, as reported by Bali Express.

“According to his wife, he was swimming and had a boogie board with him, and he suddenly went missing,” a lifeguard from the area told Bali Express.
