Dead teen coughing up blood was offered first aid, but died in ambulance: Bali Airport spokesman

The 19 year old who was found collapsed at Ngurah Rai Airport’s car park was provided first aid when airport security received a report of her hitting the ground, despite initial reports that she was already dead when her body was discovered, says an airport spokesman.

The cause of Maumere, Flores woman Juliani Vergi Jemidin’s death is still not totally clear, but more details surrounding her death have been reported on.

According to the driver of a tour van that was at the airport to pick up guests, Jemidin had been walking alone, trying to cross the road, when she started vomiting up blood and lost her balance.

“The victim fell between the road and a plant barrier,” tour driver Wayan Surya, 35, told Tribun Bali

Witnesses reported Jemidin’s fall to airport officers, who then called an ambulance for the young woman, says airport spokesman Awaludin.

The ambulance was rushing Jemidin to Kasih Ibu Hospital, but the teen was declared dead on the way.

Jemidin’s uncle, Yosep Malulende, 45, had been traveling in the domestic terminal to Kupang when he got the news of his niece’s death.

He said his niece was hospitalized in Jakarta back in April, but details of her hospitalization were not provided.

Maulende described his niece as having a cheerful and friendly personality and says she was kind and humble.

Photos and videos that have been circulating of Jemidin from her Instagram account show her enjoying her time in Sanur before her fateful trip to the airport.
