Daily Emirates flights from Dubai to Bali are now here

Right as international departures out of Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport are significantly up, the gulf-based airline Emirates has launched its daily route from Dubai to Bali.

The airline kicked off its new non-stop service on Wednesday, making Emirates the largest long-haul carrier in Indonesia with four daily flights, according to Gulf News.

At least for the summer schedule, the flight will depart from Dubai at 8:20 am and arrive in Bali at 9:40 pm local time the same day. Going the other direction, the return flight will leave Bali at 11:40 pm and land in Dubai at 5 am the next day.

The new service is added to a three-times daily route to Jakarta.

Would have been awesome to be on that first Emirates plane to Bali—passengers were reportedly greeted with a traditional water cannon salute on the tarmac and got a colorful Balinese cultural dance at the airport.

“Bali is our 18th destination in Southeast Asia and we are very excited to open this route,” said Barry Brown, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations for Far East and Australia, as quoted by Gulf News.

“We have been flying to Indonesia for 23 years now — we began with a flight to Jakarta via Singapore in the early days and then moved to three non-stop daily flights to Jakarta. So this is a natural extension of our network. We want to play a large part in driving tourists from around the world to Bali.”

Eep, that sure is a lot of people coming our way, for better or for worse.
