In a shocking incident that unfolded on Sunday at Karen’s Diner Bali, a doctor known as TK engaged in a physical altercation with a waitress named Tiara. The incident occurred when the doctor refused to comply with the unique style of the diner, which is renowned for its “great burgers & rude service.”
Karen’s Diner Bali, located in the vibrant Batu Belig area, opened in April as a branch of the Australian chain that gained notoriety for its unorthodox dining experience.
The establishment had put up placards in front of the premise, clearly explaining their unconventional approach to service.
However, TK seemed unwilling to play along with the gimmick, leading to the confrontation that took place at 2:58pm, leaving both staff members and customers stunned.
According to Karen’s Diner, the incident unfolded when the doctor allegedly punched a staff member named Sahrul after the latter addressed him without acknowledging his profession. Tiara, a waitress, swiftly intervened to de-escalate the situation, emphasizing that physical assault is strictly prohibited within the diner’s premises.
Attempting to clarify the establishment’s rules, Tiara retrieved a copy of Karen’s Diner’s house rules and presented it to TK. However, in an act of disrespect, the doctor reportedly slapped the paper to the ground. The situation escalated further when Tiara insisted that TK and his companions leave if they were unable to adhere to Karen’s Diner’s guidelines. In response, TK resorted to pushing, slapping, and even pulling Tiara’s hair.
Following the incident, TK expressed remorse for his actions in a public apology shared on his Instagram account.
