A construction worker fatally suffered from an electric shock in Denpasar on Monday.
Mulyono, 44, of Jember, East Java was found dead lying at a work site on Jl. Hayam Wuruk, with an electric grinder on his chest, which is suspected as the source of the man’s electrocution, reports Tribun Bali.
The worker’s body was taken by ambulance to forensics at Sanglah around 2 pm.
“We immediately did an external examination of the corpse,” Dr. Dudut Rustyadi of forensics told Tribun. From the results of the exam, Mulyono is believed to have died about two to six hours before his body was examined.
It was apparent that the worker had died from electrocution because of the burns on his hand. There were abrasions on his palm, ring finger and pinky of his left hand, and minor abrasions on his right elbow, says Rustyadi.
Based on Tribun Bali’s count, Mulyono is the fourth victim in 2015 in Bali that has been killed by electric shock. All victims so far that Tribun has reported on this year were construction works. This makes us a bit uneasy about safety standards at work zones and we hope this is the last death of this kind this year.
