South Bali has been hit by torrential downpour the fast few days, causing dangerous landslides.
Three construction workers got stuck in the path of a landslide and one of the workers tragically did not make it out alive.
Imam P. Sukron, 50, from Jember, East Java had been dismantling a fence when a landslide suddenly let loose, totally covering Sukron in rubble.
Sukron had been assisted by two other workers who were able to escape in time.
“Around 9pm, BPBD (regional disaster agency) officers finally managed to evacuate Imam. But Imam died, buried by the landslide,” Tribun Bali quoted an unidentified police source as saying.
Sukron’s body will be brought back home to Java, but first he will be taken to Ibnu Batutah Pujamandala Mosque, reports said.
