Condition improving of Brimob officer hospitalized in Bali after reported terrorist shootout

A member of the West Nusa Tenggara Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob) hospitalized at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar, Bali is starting to look better. 

Brimob officer Bharada Efendi was rushed to Bali from Bima, Sumbawa for medical evacuation and was operated on at Sanglah Hospital on Tuesday morning. 

“From the information that is already known, his condition is stable (getting better),” Bali Police spokesman Hery Wiyanto told Tribun Bali

Efendi was reportedly injured when exchanging gunfire during a raid on wanted terrorists, allegedly linked to the Poso-based MIT.

According to Wiyanto, Efendi took a gunshot to the chest and there were bits of projectiles in his arm. 

Efendi is currently still at Sanglah, Wiyanto said on Thursday.
