A Chinese woman was sentenced by Denpasar District Court on Thursday for trying to smuggle meth in her underwear last May.
Lin Jia Ling, 24, looked confused over whether to accept her five-year sentence or appeal the verdict, according to Tribun Bali, but ultimately the Chinese mother of one said she would think it over.
Prosecutors had demanded she get five years, and the judge apparently agreed with their assessment.
Ling was arrested at Ngurah Rai Airport on May 4, 2015 when immigration officers found 0.88 grams of meth hidden in her underwear.
In another meth case reported on by Tribun Bali, prosecutors demanded three years in prison for Wahyu Setia Budi, 29, who reportedly was caught with 0.15 grams of meth on Thursday. National Narcotics Agency (BNN) agents reportedly found the meth in Budi’s boardinghouse, but Budi’s urine tested negative for narcotics.
