A Chinese woman has been found, apparently murdered in a villa in Mengwi, Bali. Police are still investigating the woman’s death, but have not yet arrested any suspects.
The body of Wu Yali, was discovered in the early hours of Thursday morning with multiple stab wounds, with a lethal one on the 51-year-old’s chest, according to reports.
Badung Police Chief Yudith Satriya Hananta confirmed the case to local reporters.
“Early in the morning, a witness heard the victim shouting from inside her room. After checking, it turned out the victim was covered in blood,” Hananta told Liputan6 on Thursday.
Police set up a crime scene at the villa, where the woman had been staying with her daughter, her son-in-law, her granddaughter, and a maid for the past four months as she ran a property business.
“The incident was known to have happened early in the morning. The victim has live for four months here,” Tribun Bali quoted an unidentified police source as saying.
The woman’s daughter identified in reports as Ge Qi, 31, claims to have heard her mother screaming right around 3am. Checking on her, she went up to the second floor where her mother’s bedroom was and found her lying in front of the room, covered in blood, she told police.
“We are still investigating this case and the examination of witnesses is ongoing,” Hananta said.
