A female tourist reportedly died after swimming at her hotel’s pool in Nusa Dua on Tuesday.
Yu Yang, 29, was swimming with her friends around 10:30 pm at Puri Bali hotel when one of her friends saw Yang was face down and floating in the pool, a source in the South Kuta police station told Merdeka on Wednesday.
According to Merdeka’s report, Yang died while in transit to the nearest hospital.
“The witness say the victim unconscious in the pool, then the witness lifted her to the edge of the pool with a hotel employee. The victim was dead on arrival at the hospital Surya Usada, Nusa Dua,” South Kuta police chief Mundra said, as quoted by Merdeka.
Mundra says that at this time, Yang’s body is at the morgue in Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, pending the follow-up of her family and the Consulate General of China. At this time, the cause of Yang’s death has not been clearly reported.
Merdeka also mentioned in its report that the hotel tried to “cover up” the incident, but did not go into specifics of how exaclty the hotel attempted to do so.
