While the Bali Nine Australian pair may have survived to see the end of February this year, it’s looking like they may not be so lucky to make it through March.
Momock Bamgang Samiarso, Bali’s chief prosecutor, the man in charge of Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan’s transfer to their execution site, has reportedly announced that the drug smugglers will be moved from Bali’s Kerobokan Prison to Nusakambagan prison island within in the next 48 hours.
Indonesian officials had originally announced that the second round of Indonesian executions in 2015 would happen in February, but those plans were clearly delayed.
With all the wishy-washy statements being made in the past several weeks of when the Bali Nine pair will be executed, we’re hesitant to believe different timelines that have been thrown around, but this does sound pretty serious.
Samiarso now says he’s got orders to transfer the Bali Nine pair this week and will act on his orders tonight or tomorrow night, reports ABC News.
The pair’s legal team is still working on an appeal, but the government is apparently ignoring that and moving everything forward.
