Central Statistics Agency: Foreign arrivals in Bali up, most tourists from China in July

Data recently released by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Bali breaks down the numbers of foreign visitors in July and how those numbers stack up compared to previous months and the same time last year.

According to BPS, a recorded amount of 382,683 foreign tourists touched down in Bali in July 2015, which was up by 5.99 percent compared to July 2014 and up by 6.39 percent compared to June 2015, reports Tribun Bali

The head of BPS Bali, Panusunan Siregar, said that of these foreign arrivals to Bali in July 2015, the highest number of tourists hailed from China, 21.26 percent to be precise.

Trailing the Chinese, other foreign tourists to Bali were from Australia (21.14 percent), Japan (5.18 percent), the UK (4.45 percent), and France (4.41 percent), Siregar told Tribun at his office in Renon on Tuesday.

But even though the Chinese represented and dominated tourist visits to Bali this July, it’s no shocker that looking at 2015 cumulatively from January to July, the country with the most citizens visiting Bali was Australia with 2,298,132 people, making up 24.67 percent of foreign tourists, while the Chinese represented 18.40 percent this year.
