CCTV footage shows crash victim may have fallen off bike from drowsiness, not hit and run

A man that earlier reports said had been killed by a hit and run may have actually first fallen off his bike from drowsiness.

From CCTV footage at the crime scene at Jl. Gatot Subroto on Wednesday, it’s vaguely visible that the victim riding the motorbike first fell down on his own, allegedly because he was drowsy, then he was hit by the car, reports Tribun Bali

This new evidence though does not put the car driver off the hook, however. The driver should surrender himself now. It’s likely not the driver’s fault, but if the driver doesn’t turn himself in, then he will become a suspect, I Nengah Subangsawan of Badung police told Tribun.

Subangsawan says he’s currently working with the Department of Transportation to identify the car’s driver, since the footage of the license plate is too dark to read clearly.
