Given that the road has been causing problems for them, residents from Babakan in Canggu have taken to a creative way of protest: planting banana trees in parts of the unfinished road, according to Tribun Bali.
This is a form of civil disobedience if you will. I Putu Gede Sjarta, kelian banjar of Babakan says this is not an official initiative or anything, but just an expression of annoyance for the poor road condition, he told Tribun Bali.
Workers rarely work, and although the part of the road where they planted the banana tree had been paved, the rain has worn the thin pavement down, Sjarta says.
