Busloads of stranded travelers from Bali airport transported to Ubung Bus Terminal, Denpasar

Some passengers are determined to leave Bali, airport closure be d*mned.

Unable to fly out of Bali because of unsafe flying conditions due to a volcanic ash cloud coming from Lombok, hundreds of travelers are reportedly shifting gears and opting to bus ‘n’ boat off the island.

The airport is apparently helping transport travelers from Ngurah Rai to Denpasar’s Ubung Bus Terminal with Damri buses.

“We did attempt for if they were passengers who want to go to Surabaya, to accommodate them via bus,” Bali Airport co-general manager I Gusti Ngurah Ardita told Tribun Bali on Wednesday.

Ardita says there were 15 mini-buses on Tuesday evening used to transport passengers because of the airport shutdown.

“We also provided transport to Padang Bai, Karangasem,” he added.
