Budget Indonesian carrier Lion Air has said that it will add a route to Shanghai from Bali.
The new service was announced by Lion Air Founder Rusdi Kirana at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.
“In late September or early October, we will fly to Shanghai,” Tribun Bali quoted Kirana as saying.
He added that Lion will also fly from northern Sulawesi city, Manado, to Shanghai.
Kirana explained that there’s a demand for these flights, with increasingly more foreign tourist arrivals from China.
Lion Air also has plans to open flights from two cities in the Philippines later this year: Cebu and Davao.
