Remember back in September we reported the arrest of an Aussie man after he attempted to smuggle crystal meth and heroin into Bali by shoving them inside his rectal cavity?

Almost as if he took a page from the bloke from Down Under, an Indian national known by his initials IJHM was arrested on Oct. 15 by customs officers at the Ngurah Rai International Airport after arriving from Bangkok, Thailand.

X-ray examinations reportedly showed seven plastic bags shoved inside a condom that had shoved inside the 48-year-old man’s bunghole. After they were extracted from his anus, the plastic bags were found to contain 932 bullet diamonds weighing 40.73 carats in total.

Imran Yusuf, a spokesman with the Badung Prosecutors’ Office, said in a statement made available yesterday that IJHM has been under his office’s custody as of Wednesday while he awaits his trial.

IJHM reportedly told authorities that he was ordered to smuggle those diamonds by his boss in Bangkok, for whom he worked as an accountant. He was supposed to give them to an unknown individual in Bali.

“[The unknown individual] was to sell the diamonds in Bali,” Imran added.

Under Indonesian law, IJHM may face a maximum imprisonment of 18 years for smuggling.
