An 11-year-old boy tragically died in North Bali when a falling tree landed right on him.
Muhamad Desan Alfi Anzah from Penyabangan Village, Buleleng apparently had no idea tree felling was being carried out where he was walking.
Five men were knocking the tree down according to Merdeka: Mahsur Rahim, 44, Taslim, 32, Muhammad Abdul Jali, 33, Dedi Rahman ,32, and Agus Priono, 39.
The tree was about to come down when Priono reportedly saw the boy and shouted for him to run away from the falling tree.
But it was too late and the tree reportedly landed directly on his head, a witness of the incident told Merdeka on Sunday.
Gerokgak Police Chief Gusti Ngurah Alit Putra says this tragedy happened because the five people cutting the tree did not pay attention to passersby on the street.
Police have reportedly arrested three of the people who participated in the tree felling, who will face charges under the criminal code for inadvertently causing another person to die.
