Two kids in North Bali took their playtime too far when they decided to make a bomb threat.
The two boys from the village of Kalibukbuk, Buleleng reportedly put a leaflet containing a bomb threat on one of their neighbors’ houses.
“The bomb threat was addressed to Hinardi, 41, on Wednesday (July 6). It caused the victim to panic and immediately report it to the Singaraja City Police,” City Police Commissioner Nyoman Suarnata said in Singaraja on Friday to Antara Bali.
Police arrived at the scene and tracked the note to two 10 year olds.
According to Suarnata, Hinardi had been celebrating Eid when he found a letter attached to the fence in front of his house.
“Frankly, we were quite surprised initially, because Kalibukbuk is becoming a tourist area,” Suarnata explained.
He said that the note read: “Watch out, there’s a bomb in your house that will explode in three hours. Understand. Give me the money, or the bomb will go off.”
The police commissioner said that upon investigation, it turns out that the kids were just messing around with the note and didn’t fully realize the gravity of what they had written. Police apparently talked to the parents about supervising their children and say they will continue to monitor the boys for fear or radicalization.
