Big waves forecasted for Bali in next week, over 2 meters

If you’re planning on heading to the beach in the next week, Bali’s weather people are saying you better watch the waves.

From Wednesday onwards for the week, wave intensity will be extreme, especially in southern Bali, cautions Nyoman Gede Wiryajaya, the Denpasar office head of the Data and Information Bureau of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG).

The weather doesn’t look like anything too crazy at the moment, but it’s the waves you should be worried about, Wiryajaya told Tribun Bali

His office even reportedly estimates that waves will reach more than two meters, which puts conditions in the “extreme” category.

Wiryajaya says these conditions are normal when seasons are transitioning from rainy to dry, as we seem to be experiencing now.
