The big force is on it: Bali police will have nothing to do with female Bulgarian ATM scammer

Kuta police chief Ida Bagus Dedy Januarta says the Bulgarian woman accused of scamming up to 560 ATM customers is not Bali Police’s problem, it’s HQ’s.

IIliana Tzevetanovc was arrested after allegedly installing equipment in ATMs across Bali that would record unsuspecting customers’ PIN codes and account info. The Bulgarian woman is believed to have worked with a team of three other people that would target foreigners vacationing in Bali.

“It’s for the National Police to handle. So we do not know what operations they are running,” Januarta told Tribun Bali

A similar sentiment was also expressed by Bali Police’s PR head, Hery Wiyanto. He said he did not know how the case was being handled and was completely under wraps.

We guess that means Tzevetanovc is a pretty big fish. She was after all reportedly found with around Rp 500 million cash in various currencies, while partying and drinking with friends in a Seminyak villa when she was arrested.
