A bule man was meant to return his rental motorbike two weeks ago, complains a local resident of Jl Batu Belig, North Kuta.
Gusti Suteja says a foreigner who called himself Samuel Jaiverhan and claims to be from Australia rented his motorbike on Jan. 19 and was supposed to bring it back on the 21st. The man apparently said he staying at Favehotel in Seminyak at the time.
Suteja says his neighbor was manipulated in the same way about two months ago, but there were some minor differences in how the bule motorbike renter presented himself.
“My neighbor was also subject to this. However, the name was just Samuel, and the phone number had two different digits at the end. After, I went to my neighbor, it turned out to be the same person, but the name was just Samuel. The only difference was that this bule was from France,” Suteja told Tribun Bali on Wednesday.
He added that at the time the bule rented the motorbike, he was with a woman who appeared to be local and they had driven there together on a black Vario motorbike.
To make matters worse, Suteja says he did not take anything like the man’s passport to guarantee the return of the bike. He also says he hasn’t yet brought this to the police—let’s hope that’s his next course of action if this really is a legitimate case of motorbike theft.
