Bank Indonesia (BI) is urging banks on the island to guarantee the availability of money at ATMs during Idul Fitri and the Balinese holiday of Galungan.
Demands for cash in ATMs during the long holiday from July 15 to 22 must be met, the Bali Provincial Representative of BI, Dewi Setyowati said in Denpasar on Sunday, as quoted by Tempo.
The central bank previously estimated the level of demand for cash in Bali at Rp 3.8 trillion, but the representative stressed a rising demand for cash in Bali as two major holidays happen to fall within a week of each other this July.
