Airports Council International ranked Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport as the third best airport in the world in its class.

Yep, that took us by surprise too. We’re not hating on Bali’s airport, but is it really that good?

By the numbers, it would seem so. ACI, apparently the only global trade representative of the world’s airports, awarded Bali’s Ngurah Rai a 4.92 out of five for its quality of service.

“Based on customer satisfaction levels throughout 2016, we managed to improve our quality rating of 4.74 in 2015 to 4.92,” Bali Airport GM Yanus Suprayogi told Antara on Sunday.

The improved rating rating put Bali in third place for airports serving 15-25 million passengers per year.

To even better yet enhance services at Ngurah Rai, the airport will be working hard this year to thicken asphalt runways (we had some breakage last year that caused the whole airport to shutdown), establish rapid exit taxiway, and improve air navigation facilities and infrastructure for flight operations, says Suprayogi.

Additionally, facilities like elevators and airport parking will be added.
