Bali Triathlon announces location switch from Jimbaran to Sanur for 2016 race

Fitness freaks can rejoice now that the return of the Bali International Triathlon has been announced for this year, but organizers have moved it from their usual location of Jimbaran to Sanur.

Perhaps the location change comes after complaints of the punishing brutality of Jimbaran’s hills? (Last year’s race involved an intense sprint straight up the hill from Jimbaran Bay to Ayana. Ouch.)

The swim, bike, and run event is scheduled for August 14 at Mertasari Beach. Race participants will be able to choose from three different event categories: Olympic (1.5 km swimming, 40 km bike, and 10 km run), Sprint (500 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run), and a 5 km Fun Run. Registration is now open—but be warned, it’s not cheap to compete in a triathlon!
