TripAdvisor released its list of top travel destinations around the world, putting Bali in its top slot.
Bali came ahead of London, which took second place, and Paris, which got third place. Other Asian cities ranking in the top ten include Siem Reap in Cambodia and Phuket, Thailand.
TripAdvisor says it determined its award winners using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions on destinations worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period, as well as traveler booking interest on the site.
So the take-away from this is pretty much that people who go to Bali like posting reviews on TripAdvisor.
That said, we can’t argue with the accolade thanks to the island’s gorgeous beaches, lush jungles, and warm, rich culture.
“Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy,” reads the website’s description of our Island of the Gods.
Winners were announced on March 21.
