Starting soon, you’ll no longer be able to use cash when driving on the Bali Mandara Toll.

PT Jasa Marga Bali Tol (JBT), Indonesia’s toll road manager, says it will accept electronic payment only, starting on October 1 this year.

The toll road, located in south Bali, is a major connector between Nusa Dua, the airport, and Sanur.

In order to socialize the toll’s shift away from cash, the 10 percent discount rate will be applied for e-pass users during the week following Idul Adha.

“This year, we will give 10 percent off during Idul Adha,” JBT president director, Akhmad Tito Karim, said in Denpasar on Tuesday.

Though the holiday falls on Friday, Sept. 1 this year, this discount will run from Sept. 4 at 6am to Sept. 10 at 9pm.

There are currently a number of Indonesian banks cooperating with JBT, to offer forms of electronic payment for the toll, including Mandiri with e-Money, Blink from BTN, BPD Bali, and there’s also a card from Indomaret. While, BNI has Tapcash and BRI offers Brizzi.
