The cousin of convicted Bali suitcase murderer Tommy Schaefer pleaded not guilty to helping plot Sheila von Wiese-Mack’s 2014 murder on Thursday in an American court.

Robert Bibbs faced a federal indictment accusing him of aiding Schaefer and Heather Mack to kill Mack’s mother, but Bibbs swore he didn’t help.

Schaefer and Mack were found guilty of killing von Wiese-Mack in Indonesian court and are currently serving time in Bali: 10 years for Mack and 18 years for Schaefer.

But the case was not left solely in Indonesia as reports from American media broke out in August that a federal investigation into von Wiese-Mack’s death as the murder of an American national was ongoing.

The feds allege Schaefer was expecting to rake in up to USD11 million from Mack’s inheritance after killing von Wiese-Mack, while Bibbs also expected to get some cash, reports the Chicago Sun-Times
