It seems that just because Heather Mack allegedly helped kill her mother in Bali last year, it doesn’t mean her baby should be cut off from the family’s deep pockets.
Mack, 19, is in the process of filing for a percentage of her USD1.3 million trust fund to go to four-week-old baby Stella to “guarantee [Stella’s] financial future,” reports NBC Chicago.
“What ever [sic] your opinion of the adults in this case, I believe everyone would agree that the baby bears no culpability in this truly sad affair,” Chicago attorney Vanessa Favia said in a statement, as quoted by NBC Chicago.
Mack’s attorneys have reputedly said that Stella has been cared for in a “humane and decent manner,” but at Kerobokan Prison in Bali, prisoners must pay for basic necessities like soap, toilet paper, and quality food.
Mack and the baby’s father Tommy Schaefer, 21, are being tried separately for the murder of Mack’s mother, Sheila von Wiese-Mack in August 2014. They allegedly killed von Wiese-Mack and stuffed her body in a suitcase.
The couple is reportedly slated to get a verdict from their three panel judge on Tuesday.
