Prosecutors in Denpasar District Court are demanding a two-year sentence for a Russian tourist accused of robbing a moneychanger on Jl. Uluwatu, Ungasan in Bukit.
The Russian, 36-year-old Kriukov Pavel allegedly stole Rp 28.7 million from a safe at the moneychanger after physically assaulting the employee working there, prosecutors told the court on Thursday, according to Tempo.
While the Russian apparently was initially able to flee the moneychanger after the alleged robbery, a witness to all the commotion was able to apprehend him as he tried to make a getaway.
