Bali prison security thwarts meth smuggling attempt, powder hidden in cig pack

Security officers caught a visitor at a Bali prison trying to smuggle in drugs.

Made Satika, alias Andy Law, 35, has been placed in Klungkung Narcotics Police custody after he was found carrying meth into a Klungkung prison.

Bali’s Kerobokan Prison is not the only penitentiary on the island with drug action.

Law had been visiting an inmate at the prison and brought two packs of bread and a pack of cigarettes with him.

As usual, prison guards checked the visitor in a standard check.

They became suspicious when they found that the packaging of the cigarettes had been opened. Inside the pack, they reportedly found power, which turned out to be meth.

Klunkung Prison security chief Johanis Javlaun confirmed the arrest to Tribun Bali on Thursday.

Narcotics police are now investigating further.
