Bali Police have invited pecalang, local and traditional security guards to help provide security for the upcoming local elections on Dec. 9.

Elections will be held simultaneously across six regencies in Bali, including Denpasar, Badung, Tabanan, Karangasem, Bangli, and Jembrana.

“The pecalang will be partnering with police for better synergy,” Bali Police spokesman Hery Wiyanto said in Denpasar Monday, as quoted by Antara

This synergy means that they’ll have a nice mix of security from your neighborhood, police force, and military.

Bali Police itself will deploy as many as 12,512 officers throughout the different stages of the local elections, while the regional military command (Kodam IX / Udayana) will reportedly deploy 856 personnel as well.
