Bali nightmare: Australian toddler drowns in villa pool

An Australian 18-month-old has reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at her mother’s Bali villa.

Details on the story are thin at the moment, but it’s understood that the toddler was found in the pool at the North Kuta villa on Wednesday afternoon, Australia’s 9News reports.

The girl’s mother rushed her to Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar, but it was too late.

The toddler was apparently from a mixed marriage and was born in Australia. Her father is from Perth, who was separated from his Indonesian wife, according to North Kuta police detective Putu Ika Pratama.
