Bali Mandara Toll road rates to go up in November

If you’re like us and prefer to have your cash ready on hand, ready to go when driving through the toll (instead of holding up traffic whilst fishing it out of your bag), then you’re going to want to start adding an extra bit come November.

Bali Mandara Toll road rates will rise on November 1 at exactly 6 am. Motorbikes will have to pay Rp 4,000, while category I vehicles, like sedans, jeeps, pick-ups, and small trucks and buses will have to pay Rp 11,000.

President Director of PT Jasamarga Bali Tol Akhmad Tito Karim says the increase for the toll will go towards improving service—though we wonder how exactly the service will improve since it’s usually so good!

“Toll revenues will be used to improve service, make a return on investments, and go towards the maintenance and development of highways,” Karim said, as quoted by Kompas

The current rate was set by former Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in 2013 and is supposed to go up every two years.

“The increase is still below inflation. Under 10 percent,” added Karim.
