Bali man allegedly kills wife, slamming her head to the ground five times

The murder crime scene reconstruction in Kuta was not the only eerie murder reenactment happening this week.

Bali man Ketut Sumerta, 43, had to walk through 34 scenes in the police reconstruction of his wife’s murder on Thursday.

Ni Putu Atrini, 44, allegedly died at the hands of her husband, getting her head slammed to the floor five times, after they had engaged in a quarrel on Tuesday night.

The reconstruction returned to the alleged crime scene, the couple’s house on Jl. Gunung Payung II, Denpasar.

According to local reports, Sumerta was highly cooperative during the reconstruction, even repositioning the “actors” to get it just right.

“After hitting (her), the suspect grabbed the victim’s hair and slammed her head onto the bedroom floor five times. In the third blow, the victim’s head bled,” West Denpasar Police Chief Wisnu Wardana told Tribun News

Wardana added that all scenes in the reenactment were totally based on the description of the suspect.

Sumerta is reportedly facing charges carrying a max of 15 years prison for his wife’s death.
