The Denpasar Immigration Office is on the hunt for a foreign male whose clip of him meditating while naked within the sacred confines of a Balinese temple went viral over the weekend.

Reports say that the video was uploaded by an Instagram influencer and it went viral after it was reuploaded by community accounts such as @canggu_bali.

In the video, a young man, in a state of undress, sat on the ground cross-legged and seemingly engaged in meditation in front of a shrine. The naked man closes his eyes while inhaling what appears to be an electronic cigarette through his nostrils.

As the video was captured by another individual, it is suspected that it was created to generate outrage on social media. The exact location where the clip was taken remains undisclosed

“We are in coordination with the Directorate of Intel and Security of the Bali Regional Police,” said Denpasar Immigration Head Tedy Riyandi yesterday as quoted by Antara news agency.

While the immigration authorities say they have managed to ascertain the identity of the foreigner who breached the sanctity and decorum of the hallowed ground, specifics including nationality are being kept under wraps due to the individual’s ongoing pursuit by law enforcement.

In tandem with their efforts alongside the Bali Regional Police, The Denpasar Immigration Office has also reached out to the social media handle responsible for first disseminating the video of the nude foreigner.

As of now, however, there has been no response from the account.

“We are working hard to track down the whereabouts of the foreigner and determine the time and location of the incident,” Tedy added.

Coconuts Bali has also attempted to contact the influencer for his comment.

Local news outlets reported that the influencer had flown to Thailand and that his Instagram account currently only features one post.
