Many questions remain after two Chinese tourists — a 25-year-old man identified by police as Li Chiming and a 22-year-old woman identified as Cheng Jianan — were found dead at a hotel in Jimbaran yesterday, as police continue to investigate the tragic case.

The hotel operator reportedly received a distress call from room 4223 at 6:43am. Staff rushed to the scene with a wheelchair but instead of finding someone in need of help, they found Cheng’s naked and bloody body lying on the floor of the hotel corridor.

Li’s body was later found in the bathtub of room 4223, also covered in blood.

CCTV footage showed that Li was a guest at the hotel and Cheng came to visit him shortly after midnight yesterday. Li was last seen alive when he went down to the lobby to pick up Cheng. Cheng was last seen crawling out of room 4223 with severe injuries at 6:55am.

South Kuta Police Chief Nyoman Karang Adiputra told Radar Bali that the police are still looking into the case and could not comment further.
