Building in Bali governor’s office complex catches fire (VIDEO)

An office building in the administrative complex of Bali’s governor caught fire on Tuesday night, just after a gubernatorial candidate event for the 2018 race.

While the building, of the Bali Province Legal Bureau Unit V was heavily damaged, thankfully the flames were extinguished within several hours and there were no reported victims.

The fire is believed to have started on the second floor of the building around 5:30pm, spreading quickly to the top floor of the three-story building, reported Antara Bali.

Around eight fire trucks were deployed to the scene to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire has not yet been definitively determined, but there are suspicions that it was a short circuit, local media is reporting.

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika said that all important documents had already been secured in the Archives Bureau.

The office building was built in 1978, according to Pastika.

“That means it’s time to build a a new building,” he concluded.
