A Bali government employee was hit hard with corruption charges yesterday and is accused of embezzling a whopping IDR60 billion.
I Wayan Candra, a regent of Klungkung, Bali serving terms from 2003-2008 and 2008-2013, faced Corruption Court in Denpasar, reports Tribun Bali.
But Candra wasn’t alone. There are reportedly 14 different suspects with separate files who engaged in corruption between May 2006 and November 2008.
Candra’s case corruption story allegedly began back in 2006 during a development plan for Gunaksa pier in Gunaksa Village, Klungkung. At that time he, allegedly managed to conceal IDR60,026,654,218.33.
After Candra’s indictment was read, his legal counsel said they would file an objection and request two weeks, according to Tribun.
