Bali’s provincial forestry office has established a team assigned to catch forest fires early on during musim panas.
“We have formed an internal team in anticipation of the early detection of forest fires during the dry season,” said Head of Forestry for Bali Province, Gede Nyoman Wirantha in Denpasar on Wednesday, as quoted by Antara.
The team will coordinate with other related organizations in the district, including the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).
Posts have been set up in a number of critical points with the greatest potential for fires, including the Mt. Agung area in Karagsem, around Mt. Batur in Bangli, and in Gerokgak, Buleleng.
